Announcement Double Doodle Labradoodle

Double Doodle and Labradoodle Puppies

Hello, everyone! Goodness, it feels like FOREVER since we’ve had any exciting news to share here. But boy, we are so very THRILLED that we finally do… have Double Doodle and Labradoodle puppies in the house!!!

That’s right! We have not only one but TWO sweet new litters that just recently arrived – hooray!!!

Now, if you’ve been around here for any length of time, I know what you’re probably thinking. You’re probably thinking something like, “Faith, this is NOT how you normally announce your litters. You do it BEFORE the puppies are born, when you confirm a momma’s pregnancy, not after!” And if that’s what you’re thinking, then you’re absolutely right! This is the first time that I am introducing/announcing a litter AFTER their birth. And it does feel as weird and unconventional as it is. #2020liveson

A Change in Process

Up until March of 2020, I have always replied to every email, read over every application, and talked with so many families over the phone on a weekly basis. But I’ve gotta be real with you here. Once COVID-19 hit our nation and everybody started working from home, everybody wanted a puppy, thus, we have never received so many emails, phone calls, and applications…ever!

In some sense, we feel SO blessed to have so many wonderful families reaching out with hopes to adopt one of our sweet puppies. Yet, on the other hand, it has simply felt overwhelming, to say the very least.

Yes, breeding and raising Double Doodle and Labradoodle puppies is something that our family does seasonally and truly loves to do when time allows us. But it never has been and never will be our M-F, year-round business, though it could very well have been this past year if I let it, minus having any available pups in the house 🙂

So with ALL that being said, I have simply chosen to do things differently this time around and for a couple of different reasons, which I won’t bore you with here. The most important thing though is this: We have 12 beautiful puppies that are here and ready for 12 wonderful families to commit to being their forever family!

So without further ado, let me go ahead and introduce these precious little ones to you…

Double Doodle Puppies

Our sweet momma Penny had her first litter of pups back in July – six total: 3 boys + 3 girls! She had them exactly on her expected due date and was a wonderful first-time mother from the start. And crazy enough, she did it again! She had six pups – 3 boys + 3 girls – on her expected due date, St. Patrick’s Day, less than three weeks ago! Her new nickname in our house is “Perfect Penny” because she simply is the perfect, over-achieving little momma, once again. And her babies are pretty perfect, too, if you ask us 🙂

Originally, our plan was to skip Penny’s winter heat and breed her again come spring/summer. But when her heat came a little later than we had expected and since she was in optimal health, both her family and ours mutually decided to go ahead and breed her this time around. Her expected timeframe for her next heat simply wouldn’t work for either of our families. So we did and how glad we all are!

Just in the last week, her pup’s eyes have opened and they are all getting chunkier by the day! As of the last few days, we’re now starting to see peeks of personality coming out which has been SO much fun! And their array of colors are so unique and beautiful. We’re smitten!

And here is the pretty momma and handsome papa, Scout, below!

Labradoodle Puppies

We had been eagerly awaiting Piper’s heat for months now, along with many of you! As we mentioned in our last email back in December, had thought that maybe she had a “silent heat” that we were unaware of back in the fall. But we kept on waiting and hoping to breed her just once more before her upcoming fifth birthday. And just two weeks after Penny went into heat, Piper decided to follow along with her friend!

Piper’s babies are not even 48-hours old yet, so still tiny and fragile, born Saturday afternoon with the birthday of 4/3/21! This amazing Momma birthed all nine puppies in less than four hours, leaving us all simply speechless and amazed by her incredible ability to do so like a boss! How they all fit inside of her little body, I have NO idea. But we are simply grateful, as always, that both Momma and her babies are all doing well post-partum. And the count was 3 sweet girls + 6 dapper boys! We cannot wait to see how cute these little ones will slowly become over the next few weeks!

Steps to Adopt Double Doodle and Labradoodle Puppies

If you are seriously ready to commit to adopting one of these precious Double Doodle and Labradoodle puppies, please carefully read and follow the instructions below:

  1. Puppy Application!
Every family must complete a puppy application. If you’ve already done this, great! And if months ago, even better as we always do our best to go in order of application date to honor those who have been waiting longest! If you haven’t submitted an application with LOD yet, you can do so here.
  2. Email [email protected] by or before noon/12pm on Wed, April 7th.
Our open response time for both of these litters will be a little more than 48-hours. So please talk as a family, check the dates listed for puppy visits/take home to make sure they will work for you. Then let us know if you’re ready to move forward in this amazing process. Simply send us a quick email to say “I’m ready” along with any other comments/questions you might have!
  3. Be Patient
And finally, we ask kindly for your patience as we take our time this week to respond back to everyone no later than 9pm on Friday evening (4/9). I will begin reaching out to interested families come Wednesday afternoon. Once I’ve received all the emails and have had a chance to review applications, to let you know where you fall on the list. And if we have more interested families than puppies, I will make sure to clearly communicate that to you with hopes to get a sweet puppy into your arms possibly next time around!

Those are the simple steps! Please let me know if you have any questions at all and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Thanks so much, friends!

Thank You

Finally, thank you ALL for your continued interest, hope, and patience with us! Our chief desire in this Double Doodle and Labradoodle raising venture has always been this: To raise wonderful puppies for wonderful families! And you have no idea just how lucky we feel to do just that. An indescribable gift!

We look forward to hearing from you and until then, we’ll simply be snuggling pups while we await responses 🙂

With so much love and gratitude from our family to yours,
The Gibson’s
